Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

Oh, hi, Mom! I'm coming!!!

Look at this GOOD GIRL! She now comes to her name and is very curious about what Mom is doing! I'm glad she has her own corral now and is away from Scout. When Cali was with Scout, Scout always chased her away from me and she would linger at the far side of the corral. Cali really LOVES people and is very gentle with everybody!

She is so cute, nice she isn't getting crowded out.

She's a pretty girl. Horses DO have their own personalities, don't they!

Oh man, I feel your pain. It has been so hot in Hemet too. I checked the trough yesterday afternoon and the horses had drank about 3/4 of it, thats almost 80 gallons!

Stay cool out there!
