Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

quiet moments with Gigondas and dad

I caught hubby and Gigondas having some quiet moments alone together last weekend. He had cut up some carrots for her. See how polite she is? No ears back like Scout. She truly is a great lady! And, apparently, she was thankful for her carrots! GOOD GIRL!

She is looking relaxed. It sure is nice to watch the progress of you horses, you are making sure all of them continue in their training-so often people just focus on one and ignore the others. It isn't easy training a group of them, good for you.

I love the top picture, your husband and Gigondas look so connected with each other - and loving it. Carrots! Thanks to carrots Red has gone from a demon with his feet to a very willing boy.
