Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

More Bodie pictures

Remember, if you ever do go to Bodie, go either as soon as they open at 9:00 a.m. or go in the afternoon and hope for afternoon light.  High noon is (1) TOO HOT; (2) bad light.  And, bring a hat and some water with you as there is NO general store in the town.  There is an old museum, which we didn't visit this trip, but you can't purchase drinks anywhere in Bodie.  Also be advised that the bathrooms are up by the parking lot and they are the ONLY ones in the park!  It's quite a hike from the town back to the parking lot, so be sure you visit er..."the facilities" before you start walking through town.   Bodie IS a photographer's dream spot, so we try to make it up there every time we visit the Sierra.

Nice job with those pictures. I can see that you are thinking through the angles.

Thank you, Nuzz! This visit, I really tried to focus away from "straight on" photos...tried to be more artistic!
