Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

Cali update

I actually had time to hang out with the horses yesterday.  Saturday I had to rush around and get home so that my daughter and I could walk over to our local swap meet, but we were both too tired to do so.  So, I rushed home for nothing.  Sunday, however, as soon as hubby went to work, I headed up the mountain.  I spent about an hour driving around Garner Valley taking photos, then went to the feed store to buy pellets for the horses.  I was able to spend some quality horse time up at the ranch.  Cali's eyes look great~no more flies!  YEAH!  It's too cold for them up there now.  The farrier is coming today to trim the herd and to fix the shoes of one of the ranch owner's Pasos.  They went for a ride yesterday.  It was such a beautiful day~high clouds and a nice breeze!

I am glad your flies are gone. A lot of ours seemed to be gone after the rain. Hopefully they drowned as it hasn't been cold enough to get them yet. All of my ponies look better except one. Hopeflly it will freeze the flies still hanging around soon.
