Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

Quad and hubby

After hubby got off work yesterday afternoon, we returned to the ranch for a late afternoon visit and a lesson with my cousin and Gigondas. It is so nice there in the afternoon. A breeze comes from the west and the air quickly cools down! There was a beautiful sunset last night and we stopped by the Dairy Queen for a quick hamburger and ice cream before heading home. Quad seems to like his beautiful neighbor! She sure likes him!

I love how he has his eyes closed while your husband is rubbing his face. He sure seems like a grand guy.
I looked at his pedigree he and Drumo (Mo), the OTTB I rescued and rehabbed, are related through Northern Dancer http://www.pedigreequery.com/drumo
Seems we keep doing that LOL

So glad he is settling in so well!

Great music choice, by the way. Got me in the mood to listen to a little Jesse Cook. :o)
