Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

Sunni and Cali~Camera Critters for July 18, 2009

Sunni and Cali have turned out to be real buddies. Neither one is food agressive and they both are very laid back. Sunni is my PMU quarter horse and Cali is one of our mustangs from Wyoming. We put them together since Cali used to be in with Scout. BIG MISTAKE! Scout constantly pushed Cali away from her food and ran her all over the corral. So, we moved Scout out into her own corral and moved Sunni in with Cali, since he isn't agressive. The two of them were eating nose to nose last night! The only problem is that, when I go into the corral, I have to scratch them BOTH at the same time! I took these photos of the two of them yesterday.

We arrived at feeding time last night and Quad was too busy to even look up! In fact, they were ALL too busy to look up! That's Scout eating and then Quad eating on the bottom pics. Camera Critters for July 17, 2009.

Sounds like my dogs. they get along well but you can never do for one without doing for both.. including scratching, loving on, feeding treats.

Beautiful horses.

My camera critter is here today
