Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

Dad and Gigo and the bath(s)

This is the saga of Dad, Gigondas, and the bath...oh, and THE TUMBLEWEED. Here goes!
One summer afternoon, Dad decided to take his favorite horse, Gigondas, down to the arena for a romp and a nice bath. After all, it was pretty hot that day.
She was a GOOD GIRL and stood for her bath. She actually enjoys her baths.
OOPS! She, of course, ROLLED in the dirt right after the bath. Can you detect the look of disgust on Dad's face?
So, he gave her ANOTHER hosing off. Not quite as enthustically, this time. Notice the defeated look in his shoulders?
Anyway, after that, she wandered off in the arena. Notice the tumbleweed (Cali's TUMBLEWEED)...or, what was left of it! Notice that Gigondas IGNORED the tumbleweed.
