Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

winter woolies and BAD CALI!

I thought you'd like to see some pics of "the herd" last winter with their winter woolies! They are already getting their winter coats. You notice Scout and Sunni with tiny tails? That's because DIRTY CALI ate their tails one night! They still haven't grown back! Sunni's tail used to almost touch the ground and it was a full, gorgeous tail! Now he has a hideous-looking little, tiny tail! BAD CALI!~

I love those woolie bullies! They are so soft in the winter, too.
Of course, they also end up getting dirtier and dustier...and then you can't wash them because it's too cold. :P

Awww, sorry about those tails. Wonder why she thought they'd be so yummy?

I'd be so mad if my horse ate each others tails. I love long tails. They must have tasted good!
