Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

Horse time~Finally!!

I left home this morning about 7:30 a.m. to drive up the mountain and visit the horses. I'm glad I did. The ranch was empty because the owners went to a horse show this weekend, so I had the whole place to myself! I didn't take any horse out and their gal who feeds them showed up while I was there, so they soon got busy eating their breakfast. I emptied out the mustangs' water trough (ugh!) and made sure everybody had fresh water. I cleaned out the glue traps in the tack room, which were full of mice, and disposed of them. The hummingbird feeders were attracting hummingbirds and two lizards were out doing their morning pushups! It was a nice, quiet morning and I enjoyed my time at the ranch today!
