Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

Daisy

We have three outdoor cats: Loki, who is about 15 years old, Daisy, who is about 13, and "Mr. Gray", whose age is unknown. Mr. Gray was given to us by a student of our daughter when she and her mom lost their house and had to move to an apartment and couldn't keep him. He is a neutered male. Loki and Daisy both came from a PETCO adoption years ago. I picked out Loki and the next year hubby picked out Daisy. She is very petite and only weighs 5 pounds! But, don't let that innocent face fool you~~~she is a deadly stalker and killer! She's left ground squirrels, mice, birds, and even baby rabbits on our front door step. I wonder if she got the blue jay, but he was always very wary, although he wouldn't fly off when the dogs were out front. So, she remains my prime suspect in his disappearance. But, just look at her this afternoon! Awwwww....isn't she cute? Yeah, well behind that sweet face is a heart of steel and the personality of a killer. There was a family of rabbits in the neighborhood a couple of years ago and I know for sure that Daisy killed at least two of the baby rabbits. I found them in the front yard...sigh...there are still rabbits in our neighborhood because there is an empty lot at the end of the street. I just hope Daisy didn't go in the blue jay!
