Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

SOMEBODY had a snit fit last week! Guess who?

The gal who has the two horses next to Scout and Cali did a BAD THING last week! She brought carrots for her horses and didn't give any to Scout or Cali! And, Scout let me know what a BAD THING that was! She was *%ssed!!! Cathy, the ranch owner, said she let everybody know how disappointed she was! She stuck her head through the corral pipes. She pawed the ground. She ran around. But, nobody understood what she was trying to say, "GIVE ME CARROTS! NOW!" So, this weekend, guess what I'll have to take to the ranch? Yup. Carrots. And, what did I do last week? Yup. Had all their feet trimmed. THAT isn't carrots! No way! I guess I'm a BAD mom!

Sounds like pounds of carrots are called for ;)

I've been using the horses' grain buckets to bail dirty water out of the troughs. They get mad when they discover that there's no grain in those buckets.

My horses will eat anything but carrots. I don't understand.
