Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

Frisky Quad!

Quad sure loved his romp in the arena last weekend. Hubby and I were going to drive over to Arizona for 4 days, but, with this storm moving in, he didn't wish to have his new car sandblasted, so we are staying home. It's probably just as well, since we are both EXHAUSTED and I'm fighting a relapse of my bronchitis. And, it means more HORSE TIME for me! Hehehehehehehe!!!!

Gail, I NEVER, ever bet on a gray horse before I got Quad! I just wasn't into grays! Actually, he is a descendant of both Secretariat AND Affirmed. He should have been a beautiful chestnut, but his dam was gray and her gray line goes very far back! He has spatterings of chestnut "blobs" all over his body, however, and he's such a sweetheart...I don't care what color he is! Actually, I'm very partial to greys now!
