Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

Joshua Tree National Park yesterday~Scenic Sunday 010211

So yesterday hubby asked, "Do you want to drive out to Joshua Tree?", so off we went! It was a clear day, although by afternoon, clouds were moving in, again, and we are scheduled to have showers tomorrow and Tuesday, just in time to return to school :-(. There were a lot of people in the park and most campgrounds were full. There was ice on the ground by the western entrance and snow on the ground, still, at Barker Dam! While it wasn't as cold as the Sierras, I DID have my 3 layers AND my jacket! I'm glad we drove up there for the day. I'll have to stay home and do chores this morning, but then I'll drive up to see the horses! I have missed them! Scenic Sunday for January 2, 2011. I love your horses, especially the black one, is he Arabian? I used to have a horse when I was younger. Happy New year.
