Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

Arizona morning

Hubby and I are over in Arizona for the weekend. Of course, I woke up early this morning...grabbed my Nikon and went out for a couple of morning walks. The first walk was too dark to take photos of anything, so I just went exploring. When we checked in last night, a coyote ran across the road right in front of us, so I thought I might see or hear some this morning. Nope. But, I did see a bunch of cottontails, quail, and a screeching crow or raven. There was also a little hawk up on one of the buildings, but by the time I got over to him, he'd taken off (hopefully not after the quail!) I'm not sure where we are heading out to today or where we'll have our breakfast, but we'll be eating in at the villas tomorrow morning!!! There's an AJ's market about 6 miles away and I'm sure we'll stop there and grab some steaks to BBQ for dinner and to pick up stuff for breakfast. :-)
