Chores~

It's hard to have just one day to work with the horses, especially since I have 5 of them! And, only 1 of me! So, I try to split up chores and work with a couple of them every time I go to visit them up in the mountains. And, yesterday was no exception. I got up to the ranch about 10:00. It was a cold, overcast day. My first chore was to give Gigo a good scratching. I found her favorite spot on her neck. She STRETCHED her neck out and lowered her eyes....aahhhhh...there's NOTHING like a good scratch!!! She always greets me when I drive into the ranch. Then, off to Scout and Cali. I worked with Scout for about 20 minutes on leading and turning. She's getting better, but she is VERY headstrong! They both got a brisk brushing, too. Then, down to Quad and Sunni for more greetings and scratching. Cathy helped me move one of the rubber mats up to Gigo's corral as she immediately pulls her hay out of her feeder and eats off the sand! YIKES! Man, those things weigh a TON! It took both of us grunting and groaning and pulling to get it up into her tractor and over to Gigo's corral! And, then to move it under her feeder. Phew! By then, I was exhausted! All the horses got their beet pulp and psyllium. Then, today and tomorrow I go to school and then THE WEEKEND!****** YEAH**** Our daughter will be moving into her new house this weekend and we've been tagged to help! Her house is 3 exits away from her brother's house, so we won't be having dinners at our place any longer since the two of them have beautiful, big, open kitchens! Dad can't wait to start cooking in Jennifer's kitchen and we are giving our son our wine cooler. Fortunately they are both only about 15 minutes away from us and they are right on my freeway route to school!
