Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

Nor Cal rescue story

Grab a kleenex. I'm just a puddle of tears right now, but at least these horses were saved from slaughter. And, yes, they were going through California to slaughter in Mexico.

oh my gosh I just read this. How heartbreaking and senseless. It never fails to shock me what some so called 'human's are capable of inflicting on another living creature.
thank goodness for the good folks of the rescue. All this, for a few lousy bucks

Oh, reading such things make me so sad. I've adopted 2 horses. Would adopt 20 more if only I had the space. They're such magnificent creatures. And, the humans who abuse them are so horrid...
