Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

New macro lens

Hubby gave me a new macro lens for my Nikon this week for our 38th wedding anniversary (WHERE has the time gone???). I tried it out one afternoon and wandered out to our front yard. I can't wait to take it up to the horses tomorrow morning and get some closeups! It's a 18-200 mm lens, with built-in macro. Since I also love to take photos of flowers, I have been begging him for months to find one to replace my 55-300 mm POS that was on my camera. It only worked in bright light and easily took out-of-focus photos! Apparently there are a lot of complaints about this lens and many of them are for sale on EBAY! So, I'll take the new one with me this afternoon when we got to our daughter's house for Julia Child's beef bourguignon for dinner! Yum, yum!

That's funny. My husband just got a new macro zoom lens for my Nikon last weekend. I just wanted some macro ring extensions to replace the ones I lost, but he got me a full-on high quality lens.
