Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

SNOW~That's My World 120109

We FINALLY made it up to the ranch where our horses are boarded on Sunday. I wanted to go Saturday, but hubby put his foot down as it was snowing and I don't have chains. The CHP frequently closes down the road to the mountains when it is snowing and turns away cars without chains. And, snow it did! We woke up Sunday morning to snow-covered mountains surrounding our valley. I wanted to get up there and check on the herd, so off we went, about 10:00 a.m. Another storm system will move in over the weekend, into next week, so there might be more snow then. Time to get out the winter clothes! Here are Sunni and Quad greeting us Sunday morning up at the ranch. That's My World for Tuesday, December 1, 2009. For those of you who know about my computer, these are all new photos that I uploaded to hubby's laptop! No word yet on my desktop, which holds ALL my photos! ACK!!! We dropped it off at our son's last night. Cross your fingers that I don't lose all my pics!

I love seeing the snow up on those mountains. Being this distance from the white stuff is just perfect for me. Distance makes the heart grow fonder...

Snow on the mountains can be really pretty but dangerous driving conditions. Great photos of your horses.
