Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

Sunni's turn Part 1

After we put Quad away in his corral, I brought Sunni out for a saddling. Now, Sunni hasn't been saddled since last August, when he spooked. So, of course, we let him loose in the arena to get the kinks and farts out! He ran and ran and ran. He had one eye on the saddle, however, and I wasn't sure if he would accept it. Look at his winter coat! He always has such a fuzzy, long winter coat! Of all our horses, he seems to have the longest coat.

He looks like he is having a ball in the arena. The photo of him coming when you signal is so sweet.
