Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

Sunni saddled Part 2

So, next it was time to saddle Sunni. Remember, he had bucked back in August while my cousin was on him (crow hopped). He hadn't been saddled since then. So I was eager to get him saddled the same day we saddled Quad. After letting him out to run and kick, it was his turn! It was good for me to do this and I'm sure it was good for Sunni, too! I'll keep saddling him from now on and working him with the saddle.

Two big steps this weekend...good for you. I don't know which is harder, saddling a horse for the first time or saddling one that you know might protest, either one can rack your nerves.
You and Sunni both look clam.

That looks really good - he doesn't look too stressed by the whole thing!

Glad there were no surprises.

Wow! That's great! And what a success. You've got some good ponies.
