It was a gorgeous Southern California day yesterday~clear, warm, sunny! Hubby and I drove to The Bread Basket for breakfast with my aunt and uncle and then out to see the horses. My good friend Molly (http://holamole.blogspot.com/) gave me one of her saddles which is too narrow for her little mare, Bella. She thought it might fit Quad and I was eager to try it out on him. So, I haltered Quad and took him out to the round pen for a little romp before saddling. And, romp he did! He kicked up his heels and went running around for some time. He must be feeling good now because this was the most energetic we've seen him! And, when it was time to put the saddle on, he came to me when I called him! What a good boy! I let hubby take him around a bit while I took pics, then I walked Quad and he took some pics. No, I didn't get on him. There's no mounting block up at the ranch (Cathy and Bill are very agile), but I may buy one this week. I'm going to need one! It was good just to see him saddled and happy yesterday! I also saddled Sunni and I'll post those pics later this week. Hubby and I also grommed our two mustangs, Scout and Cali, and I worked with Ms. Scout on "STAY"! (She's getting much better at "stay") while hubby brushed out Cali's mane. Then, all the horses got wormed. It was a good day.

That is so grand! Quad looks wonderful saddled, the only way he will look better is with you on him. One step at a time and this one was a big step....
You both look very happy.
You are so right! This was a big step for me. Now, to get up on him!!!
Quad actually makes the saddle look small since he is such a big boy. I have a picture of Bella under it, one our first saddling trials, and it pretty much covers her back. I'll show you sometime.
I'm really proud of you for taking that step. If another step comes along later, so much the better.
Wonderful and you two look good together.
I sure wish I had your weather so I could play with the horses.
Congrats! Quad looks like a 'real' horse now. hehe!
Take your time getting up there. Baby Steps! :)

What a nice boy. Are you going to ride him in the arena first or a round pen? He sure looks calm with you walking him there. :)
I think probably the round pen, as it has a filling of manure. The ranch owner's trainer used it last summer to train two of her Pasos to ride. I just have to get my confidence back.
