Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

Sunrise

I am usually on my way to school by this time, but yesterday afternoon, I felt like I'd been hit with a sledgehammer in my back.  Ugh....achy, tired, blah.  This morning, when I awoke, I knew there was NO WAY I'd make it through a day at school.  I think I have a major cold coming, so I'm going to rest, drink water with lemon, and sleep most of the day.  I NEED to get through the next 2 days after this.

So, I was looking at the various webcams from Toro Peak, which dominates the Santa Rosa mountains.  I travel next to them each time I go to check on the horses.  Toro Peak is at 8,000 feet and UC San Diego has 4 webcams up there.  I love to pop in and see the views.

This was the view this morning, looking west:
We're supposed to have scattered showers over today and the next two days...I'll keep you updated!
