Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

Cooler temps~Finally!~

Well, we here in the desert are OUT OF the triple digit temps!  FINALLY~ Phew!  It was a LONG, HOT summer!  It will be in the 90's during the daytime and into the high 60's AT NIGHT!  We even turned off the air conditioner last night!

I got to babysit the granddaughter Wednesday afternoon because her mom had a band activity at her school at it was 102 degrees.  So, off to the park we went to "see the ducks" and waterfall and play on the slide.  Phew!  It's HARD keeping up with a 2 year old!  But, she had fun and of course, she didn't want to leave the park!  However, I bribed her with a promise to "go shopping at the maaaarrrrrket" (Whole Foods), so she was happy about that.  She brought along her little girls' shopping bag and we bought mommie some organic lemons and then we hit the salad bar, where the little one picked out strawberries, grapes, pineapple, and mandarin orange slices to eat (she WAS hot & tired by then!)

Mommie joined us and even hubby came over for dinner and Grandma slept REALLY WELL that night!   :-)

She climbed this ladder all by herself!
DOWN the slide over and over and over!

Amen to the cooler temps. It was a miserable summer. A day in the park with your granddaughter must have been a welcome change.
