Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

Sierra Nevadas and fence~Sunday Stills for 080209

This beautiful field was near Gardnerville. We stopped there on our way to Lake Tahoe in June, for our first mini-vacation. My brother-in-law lives there and we try to get up to see him every couple of years. He still comes down to the desert, too. Of course, I had to stop and take pics of fences, barns, and cows! Sunday Stills Challenge for 080209.

Those are some solid fenceposts! That wire isn't going anywhere anytime soon!
And all of it dwarfed by the mountains.
What a view!

Gorgeous views...totally overshadowing the lovely rustic fence. Great shots!

The snow and flowers are gone now, so you drove through at the most scenic time of year.

The view is so pretty you don't even see the fences hardly.

Well, you can't get much prettier with fences with the mountains behind them!
