Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

Quad update!!!

I took a friend up with me this morning, Molly, and she watched Sunni have his lesson with my cousin Valerie. He is doing much better and I'll post pics of him another day. But, I wanted to share some of Quad today! Molly and I took him down to the arena, where there is plenty of soft sand, and let him walk around on his own today. He is such a GOOD BOY! So calm and patient! He was a perfect gentleman and walked all around it, smelling all the good smells (piles of horse poop!). Here are some pics of Quad today.

What a nice horse! You're lucky to have him, and he's lucky to have you!

He's gorgeous! But maybe he knows what he's doing when he's throwing his bowl around and demanding more grain. I see some ribs on him. He says, "Just a little more, Mom, pleeeeeeze!" :o)

Katharine, he came to us like that. We are giving him extra food, but, as you know, we aren't overdoing it. He will be fine. Thank you for your concern.

He was so cute with his one pretend spook at the shadows. He is a real gem.

Cheryl, I figured he had been like that, as I remembered you saying he was a rescue. I was joking about the food dish thing -- I know you take good care of your horses, as they always look well cared for in the pictures. Sorry if my comment sounded as if I thought differently!

Quad looks great. He probably knows how lucky he is that you gave him a wonderful new home.
