Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

Cali and Sunni and news about my back

Sorry for no post this morning! Hubby forgot to pay the cable bill for two months and this morning, we had no Internet! Or cable! YIKES! So, I had to get out the old credit card. OF COURSE, they then tacked on ANOTHER month's bill, but at least we have TV and Internet tonight.
I took these pics of Cali and Sunni last Saturday. Now, Sunni is a quarter horse, but look at the size of Cali, our mustang! She's getting BIG! I mean, B-I-G!!! She did so well with my short training session with her on Saturday! She just wants to please and have some scratches! She enjoyed her walk out to the other horses. I need to take her out every time and let her socialize.
GOOD NEWS about my leg! It seems the 2nd cortisone shot IS WORKING! YEAH! I have NO PAIN now in my leg. My feet are still numb and tingling, but Doc said it might take 6 months for that to go away. The main thing is that my disc is no longer pinching the nerve, the muscle is relaxing, and I am pain-free. You have NO IDEA what a difference that is! I was so crabby and irritable and MISERABLE that I was snapping at everybody. My face showed the strain. I was depressed all the time, too. I'm going to go to a pool tomorrow afternoon with our daughter and walk up and down the lap pool (NO swimming....just walking). That is supposed to help my back, too. So, we'll have "girls' afternoon" at the spa! YEAH! What fun! We always enjoy going to the spa and using the pool and relaxing with some hot tea.
