Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

Textures~Sunday Stills Challenge~021912

I packed up my camera this morning and headed over to the Living Desert Reserve here in Palm Desert to see what I could find.  I was intrigued by the footprints in the cement.  There are various animal footprints in the cement along the various walkways of the reserve.  It was a beautiful morning and I got there early before it was crowded.  I really enjoyed watching the Mexican wolves and the keeper was there talking to another group, so I listened in.  They are beautiful animals and it's a shame that so many of the released ones were shot or killed, but that's another story for another time.  Sunday stills Challenge, "textures" for February 19, 2012.

Yay!!!!

Thank you so much for deleting those WV characters.

Snow on your mountains, and footprints in the cement, what a great collection of posts.

I have this fascination with animal footprints, at the farm I was always the first one out in the snow to see them.

Cool choices. I would also like to hear the story about the wolves.
