Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

Signs of fall~maple leaves~Sunday stills Challenge~092411

I always know when fall is coming up at the ranch where I board my horses.  First, they start to get shaggy.  Second, the maple trees develop red leaves, like these.  Finally, the apple farmer next door is out fiddling around with his apple trees.  He sells his organic apples to the Julian Baking Company for apple pies and cider.  Yum, yum!  So, here are the signs of fall I noticed today.  Sunday Stills Challenge for September 24, 2011.
