Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

Snow, geese, and mountains~SkyWatch Friday 021910

You know, I'm always so busy posting photos of my horses up in the mountains, that I sometimes forget we live in the DESERT (Duh...desert horses!). And, on a day like this, I ventured out a couple of weekends ago. It was about 3-4 days after a recent storm dropped snow on our local mountains. I drove over to the Desert Springs Marriott and walked around. It was a crisp, cool morning and as I was walking, I heard the honking of a flock of geese fly overhead (click on the photo to enlarge). With another storm heading our way this weekend, I'm glad I was able to get out and take a few pics of the blue sky when I had the chance! SkyWatch Friday for February 19, 2010.

I see the geese & that's a great sky, including the palms

The mountains are majestic! The tall palm trees against that clear blue sky are wonderful, and the flying geese just add to the beauty of the scene.

Happy Friday and happy weekend!

Kinda funny to see geese and palm trees, but they do leave this part of the world for the winter! I love geese flying, no matter where they are, and everything in this photo is so clear! I am glad I made it bigger!!!
