Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

Sunni tied (part 2)

Here is part 2 of Sunni's lesson about tying and being afraid of plastic bags. I'd say he mastered both of those! GOOD BOY! Cousin Valerie really had fun with him yesterday! Of course, I was the "dork with the camera"! He ended up following both of us around until the feed tractor came by, then he wanted to go back to his corral!

Cheryl, your Sunni is darling and very brave. Cousin is pretty wonderful to come and help, too.
The moth balls seem to be the trick. I kind of panicked when I realized how strong the odor was and that is was over the whole house. I figured I'd have to clean out the entire garage, find the balls and remove them. But they vaporized within a few days and only a little smell remains. And I haven't seen a spider, cricket, fly, or anything unwanted all week.

Nice music. I have yet to try tieing Wildairo up. I bought this device, I think it's called a blocker, that's supposed to help train them to be tied. I really enjoyed the pictures of all the wild horses. Lucky you to see all that.
