Desert Horses
Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

Arizona weekend
We're over in Arizona for the weekend. Hubby decided WE needed to get out of time (hey, I'm just along for the ride!)...Here are some pics so far~~I also discovered that the Superstition Mountains are much more vast than I ever imagined! We arrived there mid-day, so we drove all the way out beyond Canyon Lake, past Tortilla Flats, until the paved road ended. There, a sign said "Unpaved road 22 miles", so we turned around. I also discovered that I need to drink more water. I got dehydrated by late afternoon. My vision was blurry and I was too tired to eat dinner last night (you KNOW I'm dehydrated when I don't want to eat!!!)...so I will take a water bottle with me today and DRINK IT! And, yesterday, it was 100 degrees here. I should know better...I'm too tired to go for a morning walk this morning, that's how bad I feel! As a desert dweller, I SHOULD know better...I just wasn't thinking about my water intake and, as you know, that can be deadly.

I love Tortilla Flats. Such a cool drive. You should have done the 22 miles of unpaved, it's super fun! But do be careful and drink lots of water. I know I've been getting dehydrated too. Happens quick.
Great pictures! I love the last one, I want one!
