Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

Ranch fence~Friday Fences~120211

I love to watch the roses along the fence up at the horse ranch and watch the maples next to it as they change from season to season.  Last weekend, the maples were at their peak, and I posted some pics of them.  However, tonight rain up there is in the forecast and I'm sure they are now bare.  I'm glad I got these photos when I did!  Isn't the fence interesting? Beautiful colors and that's a mighty sturdy fence too!

Our leaves are long gone so it's nice reliving a little autumn with your lovely color.
The fence is massive and looks like it was meant to last a long time. Interesting use of block and wood.

I love that view of the first one, and the middle looks like it is built to last for centuries.

Very interesting fences, love the colours.

The mixed material fence (stone and wood) fits the environment wonderfully, and the tree in full autumn colors dresses it finely.

Very different fence materials. I like your photos, too.

Interesting how your trees are at their peak, while ours peaked over a month ago. In fact we have about 3" of snow on the ground right now, and it continues to fall!

This is one sturdy fence that is not gong anywhere anytime soon. The fall colors in these shots are so pretty. The horses must be in hiding. genie
