Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

Paso Fino mane~~Mellow Yellow for 050409

I had to try out the new (reconditioned) Nikon D40x this weekend, so I walked around and took some pics of some of the other horses. This paso fino has a gorgeous mane, don't you think? And, his beautiful yellow coat stood out. The horses have pretty much shed out and nighttime temps are in the 40's now. I still need to brush out Beauty, however! Oh, and Scout needs a final combing, too! Cali's front half is shed out, but I also need to work on her back and back legs. Work is never done, right? Mellow Yellow for Monday, May 4, 2009.

Beautiful mane on that horse. I also love your header picture of your friend. Makes me miss having horses. Thanks for sharing your little corner of the world this Mellow Yellow Monday.
