Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

More signs of spring in the mountains~That's My World 051209

No more frosty nights in the mountains! Spring is finally there. At 4,000 feet, our local mountains are alive with the signs of spring! I took these pics last weekend, up at the ranch. While here in the desert, we are quickly appoaching summer (at least with our temperatures now in the 100's DAILY), at least I can drive up to the mountains and see beautiful flowers, trees leafing out, and baby pine cones! That's My World for Tuesday, May 12, 2009.

Thank you for your beautiful photos. I agree with Pam about the header - every time I see it, I feel relaxed and happy!

Both you and your horse look to be such comfortable people and riding at altitude in your climate is also better for you both. Lovely to have a ranch in the mountains, I think I'd be there all the time.

No more frosty nights??? And here I had snow on the hill this morning!

(sulking away, back into the cold, wet northwest...)
