Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

mountain wildflowers

Well, it was too COLD and WINDY today to do anything with the horses, so I spent my time taking photos of our mountain wildflowers. I don't remember a year with this many wildflowers in a LONG (and I mean L-O-N-G) time! The mountains are all green and lush! These little flowers only seem to be at about 1,500 feet. Any higher, and they aren't there. Any lower, and they aren't there either! There were some California poppies scattered among them. Enjoy!

I love desert flowers so much. They seem to grow on nothing, from nothing. Good job!

Hey Chica,

Long time no see. Nic pics. We'll have to get together one of these days. I just heard about Cecilia. Wow!

Love your flower pics, as well as all the horse pics. I can't wait until our high desert flowers start blooming as well as the hybreds in my yard. Wish we had a bit more moisture to have some nice ones. But not as much as you have had.
