I went out with my Nikon early one morning while we were in the Sierra Nevada cabin and took these photos. The forest up there is so different from ours here above the desert. First, it was MUCH colder up there! It was only 65 degrees, which meant that most days I was wearing a t shirt, a sweater, and a light jacket. Second, the pines up there are different from ours here in our local mountains. There were some, like the one growing up on the rock, that I'm unfamiliar with...I still don't know the name of this pine...anybody? Finally, we were actually at a higher elevation than our local mountains. We are at about 6500 feet, but in the Sierras, we were at over 8,000 feet. Thus, there were a LOT of aspen up there. Hubby and I were talking and we'd like to return in October to take photos of the trees in the autumn. To visit Our World Tuesday, please go to: http://ourworldtuesdaymeme.blogspot.com/
