Desert Horses
Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

Looking at mom!
These two were waiting for me today up at the horse ranch. It was windy and COLD up there! My goodness! I had a sweater and my long outdoor jacket on and the wind was coming right through my jeans and I was shivering! I gave all the horses extra feed and some CocoSoya oil to keep them warm. A storm front is moving in and it will be COLD up there tonight and tomorrow! We are having my birthday dinner tonight at our daughter's house (it's actually on Tuesday, but everybody has to work that day!)

I love the expectation in their eyes. Once long ago I was taking care of some horses for friends who went to Wyoming. The back of their house backed right up to the pasture as well as a large window. I got up one morning and came out to the kitchen and there were two horses looking into the house on the other side of the window waiting for their morning hay. I wish I'd had a camera then.
