Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

Clouds in the pass~SkyWatch Friday~021712

I saw these clouds this morning as I was taking my morning walk.  This is in the pass between our two tall mountains, San Gorgonio and San Jacinto.  Clouds and fog frequently pile up here in the pass and sometimes, when the desert is clear, they are backed up.  Our local mountains are ALL covered by snow and it was down to about 2,500 feet this morning, after last night's storm.  The storm has moved on (probably to Arizona, then New Mexico) and by Saturday it should be in the high 70's here.  SkyWatch Friday for February 17, 2012.  To visit SWF, please go to:   http://skyley.blogspot.com/
