Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

Scout's lesson
Scout's lesson started out pretty well. She didn't crowd the gate, she stood tied quietly, she did everything in the round pen. However, at the far end of the arena, she'd had enough! Here are some pics from the beginning of her lesson last Tuesday.

She looks good under saddle. seems to be coming along. It's to hot here to even try to think about doing anything with the horses
