Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

Only in Bridgeport!  Interesting, eh?  Hubby found a little meat market that reminded him of his stepdad's butcher shop back in PA when he was a kid.  He bought a porterhouse steak there last night.  It was $34.00!!!!  But, I swear, it is the largest porterhouse I've ever seen!  I bought a turkey sandwich and it was the best turkey sandwich I've ever eaten! Sometimes the little shops are the best, right?  I took this photo in Bridgeport as we headed out of town to visit Twin Lakes there.  After that, we drove up the Sonora Pass (partway).

Steak, my number one meal! I bet it was a large steak.

I don't eat beef anymore. I've seen too many cattle trucks going to slaughter and I've looked into the eyes of too many cows on those trucks. Period. End of story.

How odd that you post this now. My mom is in Bridgeport this weekend with her brother. I've never been there, don't think I've even heard of it! Looks interesting though!
