Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

Secretariat's Belmont vs. American Pharoah

My daughter posted this on Facebook this morning for me.  I watched it and thought it was cool, so I'm sharing it with y'all.  It's a split screen of Secretariat's Belmont Stakes and American Pharoah's.

Enjoy!

Not even close. :D

And I'm glad. American Pharaoh is a superb horse - no doubt about it - who deserved to win the Triple Crown. He earned it. All the same, I don't want to see the day that Secretariat's Belmont is eclipsed.

Secretariat would have probably posted an even better time if any of the other horses could get close enough to push him.

Check this out. Here's another for your consideration. 37 wins from 52 starts in only fours years of racing. In one race he was asked to carry 150#'s !!! He's the local hero from downunder in the Great Depression.

Hi Cheyl, I'm up in Yucca but am on the move again. Gotta get out of this house by Aug, 6, so goodness knows where I'll end up this time :) Life is surely an adventure. Have a wonderful summer.
