I'm always amazed by the eyes of horses. Gigondas has distrustful eyes. Cali, Sunni, and Quad have soft eyes. Scout has inquisitive and thoughtful eyes. I caught Quad in a quiet moment last weekend. He has really softened, although he did bolt from me in the arena Sunday! Any advice on how to prevent this? I took him down to the arena and when I turned my back to close the gate, he went backwards and bolted, dragging the lead rope behind him. I was too tired and too weak from my bronchitis to fight him...sigh...I just want to get my breath and strength back! Unfortunately, I keep having relapses and my energy level goes down.
