Desert Horses

Welcome to my horse blog, Desert Horses. We live in the desert southwest, near Palm Springs, CA, but board our horses up in our local mountains where it is cooler in the summer. I have 4 horses, all rescues. Here is the ranch up the mountains where the horses stay.

The elusive Patches has reappeared! Camera Critters 022611

Today is hubby's birthday (and our grandson, Ben, too!). Hubby wanted to stay at home and read the Los Angeles Times on his new tablet, but I wanted to drive up the mountain road and see all the snow falling, so I left him at home. He bundled up on his favorite chair and out came Patches, our elusive kitty. She HATES the dogs and will not come out when they are inside (which is most of the time), but they were out front and she came out from under the bed to seek some attention. Don't worry...she sleeps on hubby's pillow every night! Isn't she pretty? We don't know how old she is. She was a ranch cat up in Lancaster and had a little girl as her family, but the girl and her family moved away, and she survived living outdoors for over two years. We decided to give her a permanent home and she has now been with us for nearly four years. Camera Critters for February 26, 2011. Please visit Camera Critters at: http://camera-critters.blogspot.com/
