We (hubby and I) drove all the way through Joshua Tree National Park yesterday. Hubby enjoys driving up there, now that he has his $10 annual national parks pass! Anyway, it was a cloudy day (another storm is rolling in), so we didn't get spectacular photos of the rocks, but it was nice to get away from home and enjoy the outdoors. We stopped in Palm Springs for our appointment with our tax lady first, then headed up to the town of Joshua Tree for lunch at Applebee's. It's spring break and EVERY campground in the park was FULL except the one all the way out to Cottonwood Springs, which is the eastern entrance. We saw quite a few rock climbers, but few wildflowers on the western side. However, the eastern entrance is ablaze with blue, purple, and little yellow wildflowers! And, the ocotillos are in bloom. I always enjoy seeing them, with their red flowers. I'm glad we had the opportunity to visit the park. We are babysitting the grandson today, so we'll take him to the Living Desert to see the trains.
