I also have "A Blistered Kind of Love", about a couple who do the PCT. Maybe we should swap books??? I really enjoyed "Skywalker" and I learned a lot of interesting facts about the Sierras and Crater Lake.Cheryl Annhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04211625006758463474noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9052945428992934827.post-52019376862320535532012-06-18T10:32:52.710-07:002012-06-18T10:32:52.710-07:00Yeah, the drug use wasn't a good part of her l...Yeah, the drug use wasn't a good part of her life & I skipped the several pages dealing with Lady's death, but am glad the experience had a positive effect on her life (wonder if her feet ever recovered?). I'll have to check out "Sky Walker." I enjoyed Bill Bryson's "A Walk in the Woods" - although a totally different point of view & very funny - not the same trail, but still a good read. I'm sure the PCT hikers are grateful to find the water - during parts of the book, I was very thankful for the ice cold water I had in my hand.Sherryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03793542495439289047noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9052945428992934827.post-69806699859852583282012-06-18T05:05:39.696-07:002012-06-18T05:05:39.696-07:00Yes, I just read that book, too! It actually led me to seek out the PCT where it crosses Highway 74 up in our local mountains. I just finished "SkyWalker", another account of a hike through the entire PCT from Mexico to Canada. I enjoyed this book much more than Strayed's because he actually described the other hikers he met on the trail. I have two more books on my "to read" list now!Cheryl Annhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04211625006758463474noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9052945428992934827.post-8257313198727150372012-06-17T17:51:16.073-07:002012-06-17T17:51:16.073-07:00Very nice of you to leave water for PCT hikers - I...Very nice of you to leave water for PCT hikers - I just finished reading "Wild" by Cheryl Stayed - who walked the PCT by herself.Sherryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03793542495439289047noreply@blogger.com
