I've been to shops where they flat out lie about something being broken. They charge you up the yin yang to replace it, and purposefully break something else while they are in there, so you have to bring the car right back in.<br /><br />On the other hand, it's not all bad. I went to my local Jiffy Lube and was told I didn't need an oil change even though it had been six months since I had one.<br /><br />My issue is with service people who keep calling to report bad news in increments. It sucks up all my time and stresses me out. A professional would do a thorough check up and then make one phone call with the results.
